Whats up Mad Music peeps every time I hear this song I keep saying that song is a reggae pop song and no surprise its one of my favourite singers Ellie Goulding who has a maaad knack of finding melodies that have a reggae influence, her latest single "On My Mind" is no exception , the drum pattern, its bass line and the twitchy guitar riff especially in the first verse is maaaad infectious.
No bwoy cant tell mi she nar her producer dem neva pree a reggae song and come up with dat riddim. But seriously we have to say maaad respect as she continues to grace her lyrics and productions with a heavy reggae lint.
The single is from her upcoming third studio album Delirium and is the album's lead single just released on 17 September 2015.
Check it out
If you don't believe me about the reggae influence check out her other hit song "Burn" Maaaad Music, dat tune is str8 fire
Lets not forget her current hit "Powerful" with our own Tarrus Riley, remember we predicted it was going to be a hit from waaaaay back in June.

One comment we think the video didn't do Tarrus Riley enough justice the man is a bonafide star but in the video wardrobe didnt make him have enough shine, most people (outside of reggae) wont remember his visuals, Dress the man up in a nice outfit let him shine, give the man his due...nuff said

Future Fire - Tarrus Riley is Powerful
We love Major Lazer and what there are doing especially as it showcases the talent of reggae and dancehall to a much wider audience.
This one is bound to be a hit and so we give it our "FUTURE FIRE" title as when we heard it WE LUV'D IT. Remember this is where you heard it first memba we told ya. What make us happy is that its our own talented Mr "Singy Singy" Tarrus Riley getting the cross over potential with Ellie Goulding on this powerful ballad courtesy of Major Lazer.

A song that arranges the reggae crooner's smooth vocals with the ever dynamic vocals of British superstar Ellie Goulding. Yes thats Ellie Goulding of "Burn and " I Need Your Love " fame
A lot of non reggae listeners are going to open their eyes and ears to Tarrus after this song.
The song is the second single off their new album “Peace Is the Mission“, which already has the monster hit "Lean On".
Dis ya tune has remix written all over it (up the tempo a notch to 100 BPMs and watch out)

Dancehall Burns a new sound into Dance music
Love this song, "Burn" by British song bird Ellie Goulding. Apart from it just being a mad catchy song, what caught our attention is the obvious dancehall influence, with it reggae synths and drum beats.
It earned Goulding her first number-one single on the UK Singles Chart, staying atop the charts there for three consecutive weeks. The track attained similar success internationally, reaching the top ten in countries such as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, New Zealand and Sweden.
The song in recent time has received regular rotation here in Jamaica and no surprise it harkens to the soul of any reggae or dancehall fan.
Although obviously an electronic dance pop song its drum beat heard in the second verse has the syncopated patter heard in most of the latest dancehall jams. All this track needs now is Vybz Kartel or Busy to jump on the remix and the song shotttt.
If you have any doubts, check out the progression on the first few bars of this Sean Paul cross over hit with Kelly Rowland compared to the Ellie Goulding song the synth similarity is uncanny. Some even say Ellie's song is done to try and capture the "Stargate" sound that created a number of hits in recent times including "How Deep is your Love" which was also produced by "Stargate"...............maaaaaaaaaaaaadd
