Rhianna's Work Work Work - STR8 FIRE

Its finally here the visuals for Rhi Rhi "Work Work Work"or as she says it "Werk Werk Werk".If there was any doubt as to what genre this song was all questions are answered. In an ode to all things Jamaican this sultry dancehall inspired video does the job.... Waaaaaaay up .

Maaaad interesting she has made 2 versions of the video (running back to back). The first is very "JAMAICAN" , then for those of her fans who has never been exposed to such an experience there is a somewhat milder and more universal version still edgy as we expect from the badgyal Rhinana.

Couple of things to note

Sure Rhianna is going to get flak from her Bajan people but to her credit she represents Barbados in the video see if you spot it

She and Drake have great chemistry on screen very natural, like their actually having fun

In the second video is it me or her boobs exposed......wow

The video is directed by noted Canadian director  Little X  who is known to have brought maaaad creative  energy to dancehall many times before notably through breakthrough Sean Paul "Gimmi the Light".

Enjoy ( Explicit version)

Just in case you forgot this is not their first dancehall / rap fusion crossover.

Beyonce or Rihanna who has the bigger Name in the Game

Yes and we are back, Happy New Year to all our Mad Music fans,  we took a break last year but now are ready and recharged and plan to keep the posts coming fast and furious. So lets get started we all are in love with Beyonce's controversial "Drunk in Love" song and equally love the emotionally powerful "What Now" by Rihanna so it got us thinking who does the pop and rap game love more. Both are multi-plantinum artists , well respected by fans and artists alike but who has the more respect based on name drops in songs.

Whose name is referenced more in songs, Beyonce  aka "Queen Bey" or Rihana "the Princess of Pop". Well we found a few  examples to stir the deabte and we welcome your suggestions.

First for the Bajan beauty Rhi Rhi
She crossed our musical radar  earlier this year with the Niki Minaj (her friend) reference in the "Give  it to all to Me" Mavado song , Check the lyric at the 1:35 time mark

Then there is a whole song dedicated to Rihanna (the lyrics we don't quite get we didn't know Rhi had a gun) but it sounds good

One of our favourites is  ASAP Rocky's "Fashion Killa" which not only  mentions Rihanna but has her in the in the video (maaaaad) NSFW

Then there are the Beyonce  references

Big Sean featuring Chris Brown My Last

Add to the list:

Lil Wayne f/ Mannie Fresh “Get Something”

Kanye West “Throw Some D's (Remix)”

Flo Rida “Turn Around”

Kanye West “Everything I Am”

Lil Wayne f/ Babyface “Comfortable” (2008)

The Game f/ Kanye West “Wouldn't Get Far” (3:02 time mark)

We did not include the multiple references made by husband Jay Z in Magna Carter and other albums since they were dating.

Winner just by sheer references and lyrical content Beyonce, ALL HAIL QUEEN BEY.

Rhianna finds a way to Willy Bounce....Again and we love it

We  might have our differences with Rihanna on her fashion and personal life but we can't fault her on some of her music and also that she does dig into her Caribbean roots despite her mufti-platinum worldwide crossover success.

Brand new is her new video for "Where have you Been" complete with Willy Bounce moves incorporated

Great visuals with the Bajan beauty looking good and improving everyday on her dancing skills still not at the Beyonce level but she does know how to market her music.

Can't fault you on this one Rhi Rhi...it is maaaaahd on point.

If you have any doubts on the Dancehall influence check out this Behind the Scenes feature

Notice how the song follows the same club-beat formula as "We Found Love",

Bwoy Bogle I bet you never know the music would gone so far....maaaaad
