Have you heard the Cup Song?

Whats up Mad Music lovers, we are the first to admit  we are late on this one but we are sure glad we found this mad piece of music. To be truthful we heard this song before but we never had any idea it had this maaaad choreography or story behind it. For those of you who saw Pitch Perfect its nothing new but for us others it was a gem hiding in plain sight. Ok what are talking about, its the song called "When I am gone" by Anna Kendrick from the movie Pitch Perfect.

It is also known as The Cup Song or Cups and you will soon understand why.

The original was recorded in 1931 as a bluegrass tune by AP Carter and has been covered many times over the years. However in modern time it gained traction in 2009 by the band known as Lulu and the Lampshades using the cup game as a percussion beat, the song went viral  and thats how it got its name the Cup song. But hold on the madness really began in  March 2013, the song was recorded as part of the soundtrack for Pitch Perfect and blew up ...kaboom reaching a peak of No 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart  mainly based on a really mad cool music video featuring Anna performing the routine in a kitchen and then   along with a number of diners featuring a long continuous shot....this is what we call maaaaad music,
