This sure is one "Juicy" song

Amazing what a classic sample sped up with some hand claps, some conga and percussion can do to a song, it makes for a really cool song. The accompanying video is very basic and generic but who cares when the song works, man is this song maaaad funky.

Produced by Hamburg based Doctor Dru "Juicy Fruit " was a summer hit and the success story of Exploited's label done in collaboration with Dru's buddies Adana Twins.

For those of you are not so up to speed with the old school origins, no its not Notorious BIG.." it was all a dream" no the original comes from the 1980 pop goup Mtume from thier sixth album, also titled Juicy Fruit. The mid-tempo song is arguably Mtume's most well-known, proving enormously successful on R&B radio stations. The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot Black Singles chart on June 4, 1983 and remained there for eight weeks. The single remarkably became a certified one million seller on July 25, 1983 without even becoming a Top 40 hit.
