World Cup Music Which One is Better?

Whats up, its Thank God is Friday and we got World Cup Fever baad. Alright so even if you are  a Brazil, Germany or Argentina supporter, it's not all doom and gloom , the World Cup has provided some memorable music over the years and we want to share the 911 on some mad facts on the songs.


Most people in Jamaica are familiar with this song by Haitian American Jason Derulo (featuring Wyclef Jean)  Hand Up for your "'Colours". But do you know this isnt really the official song ,  it is actually the Coca Cola Promtional Anthem commisioned by the main sponsor. Caribbean REPRESENT wi nah lie doe although we dont have a team in this year's final, this song has a stong .Caribbean element and visual to it .There is even a Spanglish and Pakstani version of this song,  maad google it.
 
Check its out its quite colourful  but no real football field , no russian dancing or flag....hmmmmmm

But then pree the official FIFA song, Live it Up featuring Will Smith, Ronaldinho and a whole lot more football and celebrating, but you dont really hear this song played much, at least not here in Jamaica. Which one do you prefer. lets put it this way the first one has 40M views on YouTube, the Live it Up has over 90M views....Maaaaad

When the World is destroyed, Who is going to save us Will Smith or Tom Cruise

According to the Mayan calender the end of the world is scheduled for next week Friday December, 21 and its seems that Hollywood has picked up on this trend and scheduled 2 major movies for 2013, assuming we will be around to see them.

What we found interesting is the similarity of the story line, the end of the world and the heroes returning to what used to be earth to revive and restore it from whatever evil had beset it.

Both top named Hollywood stars are set to save the world (yet again) who do you think will succeed, Big Willie Smith "Mr.Summer Blockbuster" or True Blue, Mission Impossible Tom Cruise.

First the M Night Shyamalan directed (although so far played down in the previews so far) sci fi drama "After Earth"  with Will Smith side by side with his son
 Jaden Smith, check it out, the preview is impressive:

Then there is the sci - fi thriller about a post apocalypse earth with our favourite star Tom Cruise who can always bring intensity to any role, the trailer is equally impressive.

Either way , if we survive it going to be maaaad movie magic.

Will Smith brings da brand new funk...kinda

Will Smith is known in modern time for his "Big Willie" persona as embodied in blockbusters like Men in Black, Independence Day, Bad Boys and list goes on and on. But lets take step back in time when Fresh Prince was a rapper and a good one too.

We think the album "He is the DJ and I'm the Rapper" ranks as one of the best rap albums of the time. EVERY single track is good, listen to the album front to back and you will not be disappointed, the energy and creativity is maaaad off the chain.


One of the better tracks "Brand New Funk" is timeless it features a funky James Brown sample  and highlights the persona that made Will the mega superstar he became. The song respected by hip hop fans also showcases the legendary turntable talent that is DJ Jazzy Jeff. Interesting factoid, DJ Jazzy Jeff and DJ Cash Money are credited in making the transformer scratch famous.

So timeless is the beat that DJ Jazzy Jeff paid homage to the classic with underground Philly rapper, Peedi Peedi in 2007....enjoy....maaad
