Beyonce or Rihanna who has the bigger Name in the Game

Yes and we are back, Happy New Year to all our Mad Music fans,  we took a break last year but now are ready and recharged and plan to keep the posts coming fast and furious. So lets get started we all are in love with Beyonce's controversial "Drunk in Love" song and equally love the emotionally powerful "What Now" by Rihanna so it got us thinking who does the pop and rap game love more. Both are multi-plantinum artists , well respected by fans and artists alike but who has the more respect based on name drops in songs.

Whose name is referenced more in songs, Beyonce  aka "Queen Bey" or Rihana "the Princess of Pop". Well we found a few  examples to stir the deabte and we welcome your suggestions.

First for the Bajan beauty Rhi Rhi
She crossed our musical radar  earlier this year with the Niki Minaj (her friend) reference in the "Give  it to all to Me" Mavado song , Check the lyric at the 1:35 time mark

Then there is a whole song dedicated to Rihanna (the lyrics we don't quite get we didn't know Rhi had a gun) but it sounds good

One of our favourites is  ASAP Rocky's "Fashion Killa" which not only  mentions Rihanna but has her in the in the video (maaaaad) NSFW

Then there are the Beyonce  references

Big Sean featuring Chris Brown My Last

Add to the list:

Lil Wayne f/ Mannie Fresh “Get Something”

Kanye West “Throw Some D's (Remix)”

Flo Rida “Turn Around”

Kanye West “Everything I Am”

Lil Wayne f/ Babyface “Comfortable” (2008)

The Game f/ Kanye West “Wouldn't Get Far” (3:02 time mark)

We did not include the multiple references made by husband Jay Z in Magna Carter and other albums since they were dating.

Winner just by sheer references and lyrical content Beyonce, ALL HAIL QUEEN BEY.

Ladies its all in the hips, Lets bounce

Hey Mad Music fans we were on a break but like a bouncing ball we are back, today we feature a hip shaking banger, from up and coming starlet Iggy Azalea. Yes some of you say Iggy who? So for those of you who don't know lets do a quick recap;

Iggy is the real deal, she is a  Australian hip hop recording artist signed to Island Def Jam  who started rapping from she was 14 years old . In 2012, Azalea became the first female and first non-American rapper to be featured on XXL's annual Top 10 Freshman cover issue. She only moved the United States from Australia in 2010 and has made an impact in a traditional male dominated African American genre.

We think she is the cream of a new breed of hip pop artists similar to Kesha and Kreshawn who transcends rap and pop, creating a very marketable concoction. This one is pure fire, apart by being shot in Mumbai, India, the beat is catchy, the dancing is hot and the hips are bouncing, we love the beat and the concept of this  video. She shows off her belly dancing skills and throws in a few hip shakes channeling her inner Bollywood. We double dare you to hear this one and not start the mad head noddin.

(NSFW)

Not quite as good as the original hip shaker Shakira who shows how it is done is this classic" Hips Don't Lie" enjoy the maaaaaadness

The World's Best Hip Hop Cover Band says Hello

Some of you may be familiar with this really cool Hip Hop Cover Band called Karmin, they take all the popular hip hop hits and add their own style to the cover, with Nick Noonan on keyboards and Amy Heidemann on lead vocals they create unique blend of hip hop swag with smooth harmony. Interesting factoid the name of the band derives from the Latin word carmen, which means "song", with a slightly altered spelling to "hint at 'karma'" and btw the couple are engaged.

To see them in action check out their version of "Look at me now" with Chris Brown and Busta Rhymes, it is their most popular video and showcases their incredible maaad talents.

Well fast forward to current times and now they are stepping out with their own original material "Crash the party"over a really cool loop from Black Sheep's "The Choice is yours" or if we go back to the original sample from Sweet Linda Divine's "I will say it again".

Check out Amy's rapping at the 2:41 mark, not bad, she obviously got maaaad skills. The song is obviously very pop but has a easy and catchy charm to it that could easily make it a radio hit.

And if you ever had any doubt as to their main stream talent here is there latest song "Hello" the song is the second official single from their debut EP of the same name and is currently #1 on the US Hot Dance Club  Songs (Billboard) Charts
Although from Nashville, Tennessee you can see the hip pop talent especially on the rapping side.
